Famous Basset Hound Friday # 40

Wow it is hard to believe that we are getting close to an entire year of famous hounds. It seems like only yesterday we started it off with the original blog about them. How time flies! Time flies when you are having fun! Jowls fly on car rides!

This week's famous hound is a bit of a celebrity. We have actually been in the same place as him too! He visited the GABR waddle the first year we went! His name is Shooter, and he is the personal hound trainer of the Chicago Blackhawk's hockey player Patrick Sharp. Because the waddle is so close to Chicago he came to visit with his mama. I think his mama is a pretty lady, but my heart still belongs to Kirsten Dunst. I hope she doesn't read this and get jealous!

Anyway. Shooter is very important in hockey. He has trained Patrick Sharp on how to stay on his feet and always be a good hockey player. Watch the video below for some training in action.

I think Shooter has done a pretty good job. You have to start training humans early on or they will start to think they run the place. In fact, he did such a good job training Patrick Sharp that they won the Stanley Cup, which evidently is the world's biggest treat container!

Who designed this thing anyway?

So there you have it, a hound who trained a person to run around on the ice with a stick and not get hurt! This is clearly a famous hound!

Handsome fellow. The human isn't too bad either, I guess

Famous Basset Hound Friday # 27

First of all, I would like to say that it is raining here. It's about time! We've been living in an oven for the last month!

Second of all, I would like to take this opportunity to write my latest blog entry for Famous Basset Hound Friday! Dad and I had a long discussion about this one, and he wanted me to make sure and write this entry tastefully. He thinks it has a good chance of being a little too racy for our normal viewers.

Pshaw!

Our famous hound this week is one of the luckiest hounds of all time. He was owned by none other than Marilyn Monroe, who is second only in attractiveness to my own personal favorite actress, Kirsten Dunst! His name was Hugo.

Lucky hound

Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller were the two humans lucky enough to have Hugo in their lives. I can't find much info about Hugo, but I am sure he had no small part in Marilyn's success (we hounds are known for our acting agent abilities). As we all know Marilyn Monroe is famous for that one picture where she walked over a grate and had her dress blown up around her ears.

You know, this one.

Well I think she may have had a little inspiration for this scene thanks to Hugo...

This kind of evidence is irrefutable

Famous Basset Hound Friday #20

Man it is good to be back! No more cats laughing at us all day while we sleep in our crates. No more wondering when the basset hounds will receive the justice they deserve! And also the bacon!

That's right I said bacon!

To celebrate this return to basset superiority I am making this week's famous hound super-special! Amazing! Stupendous! Spiderific!

That's right I said spiderific! Our famous hound is also spidery!

I don't know this hound's name, but I am calling him SpiderHound. The people who made the credits for Spiderman 2 forgot to put him in here (although 'Screaming Woman' has about 8 different listings), so SpiderHound will have to do.

You can see him in action in the video below:

Now of course the most important part of the scene (and the whole movie) is right at the beginning there, where we can see our tormented hero SpiderHound wrestling with his master's decision to live in an apartment where he has to use the elevator to do his business. No wonder he had to develop super hound powers of climbing walls and shooting webs to get around!

But SpiderHound prevails in his battle against Dumb Cats Everywhere, and wins the love of the beautiful Kirsten Dunst. We suspect that scene was deleted from the final version of Spiderman 2 because it was too scandalous for Spiderman fans to handle.

This should be a basset hound

Well SpiderHound is certainly an inspiration to me. I am looking forward to getting my super hound abilities!

SpiderHound is our newest famous hound!
